challenge
After Aion Bank was acquired by UniCredit, there was a need to carry out a full rebranding. UniCredit operates applications in various European markets, but their visual consistency differed from the concept of Aion Bank, which had stood out with its innovative approach to the market. Our task was to create a solution that would retain the core elements of UniCredit’s brand identity while giving the Polish version of the app a fresh and innovative character. An additional challenge was the short delivery timeline, driven by a tight release schedule.

process
Together with the UX team, we conducted benchmarks and market analyses and, building on the results of previous research, developed user cases, wireframes, and product flows. As the UI Lead, I was responsible for defining the new look and feel of the application. After receiving approval for a more innovative visual direction, we began building a comprehensive, fully responsive atomic design system covering mobile apps, web apps and websites to ensure consistency, scalability, and compliance with WCAG accessibility standards.Throughout the process, we worked closely with a wide range of stakeholders, including developers, product owners and business teams, to maintain alignment across all areas of the project.

result
Through close collaboration with developers, product owners, and multiple stakeholders, we successfully launched the first version of the app within a short timeframe. The project continues to evolve, with new features being added over time, maintaining a modern, user-centered experience aligned with market needs.
